Giving Thanks with FTC's Biggest Sale Ever

Hey ladies, guess what? It's Thanksgiving! Can you believe how fast this holiday has come this year? It feels like yesterday, we were all at the beach, soaking up the sun. Amazing how time just flies by. To be honest though, I LOVE this time of year. I always get so into cooking, baking, my Fall scented candles and hanging with loved ones. It's also that season where you give thanks for all of the blessings in your life and the wonderful, supportive people that are always there for you.

Given the spirit of Thanksgiving, the Fashion Truck is having its BIGGEST SALE EVER this Saturday (October 8th) at Harper's Landing in Oakville from 10am-4pm. We are SO grateful for all of our loyal and amazing customers, we wanted to celebrate with a HUGE sale and some treats on the truck. These gestures don't even begin to repay you for all of the support you've given us over the last few years, but we're hoping it's a start :)

Last year, I started my own baking/floral business, Sweets For The Sweet, so I will be baking a few treats for customers to enjoy while they shop the huge sale on the truck. I chose Pumpkin Pie Mini-Tarts and Salted Caramel cupcakes, I think these flavorful treats will be perfect for a cool Autumn day. Thank you Ashley for giving me an opportunity to grow my business along with yours. You're the best boss lady ever!

 

Okay, so, if you're wondering about the details of the sale, I got the low down. We'll have $20/$30/$40 SALE racks including gems from Free People, Seychelles, BC shoes and many other amazing brands. Oh and before I go, I wanted to share one of my recipes with you. This weekend, I'm sure you'd rather spend your holiday around the table with loved ones, sharing great stories, food and wine. If you don't want to be stuck in the kitchen for too long, I included a step-by-step guide on how to make my Pumpkin Pie Mini-Tarts. They're delicious and take no time at all.

 

 

Recipe for Pumpkin Pie Mini-Tarts

 

Ingredients
30 tart shells (I purchase mine from Whole Foods)

1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon cloves
½ teaspoon ginger
½ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon allspice
2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
1 can pure pumpkin
½ cup heavy cream
¾ cup milk

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and combine first six ingredients in a medium sized bowl.

  • 2. Whisk eggs and pure pumpkin together in a stand mixer.
  • 3. Add dry mixture until blended.
  • 4. Add cream and milk and blend until smooth. Don't over mix.
  • 5. Fill each tart to the top, don't allow spillage.
  • 6. Place tarts on a large baking sheet and spread out evenly. Bake tarts 15-20 minutes until golden brown and mixture is set. 

  • Tips

  • 1. Allow tarts to completely cool before packaging them.
  • 2. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours. 
  • 3. Add a dollop of homemade whipped cream before serving.
