Odds are, if you're reading this blog post, you enjoy fashion and your wardrobe is important to you. Don't worry, we're totally in this together. I can proudly say I'm now into my 30's and expecting a baby (very soon), so let's just say, my priorities have not only shifted when it comes to my wardrobe but my buying patterns have changed dramatically. I guess you could say I've matured. :) I'm now shopping way less and focusing on pieces that will bring me true happiness, ones that I truly need. In my twenties, I spent a crazy amount of cash on the latest trends and pieces that weren't exactly strategic. The ratio from tops to anything else was a whopping 9 to...
Image via Fashion Jackson If you're into fashion, you're probably going to be familiar with a couple of the trends that I'm sharing today. Have any of you splurged on certain styles that are projected to be the hottest this calendar year? Yeah, me too. Don't be too hard on yourself though, a lot of them will be sticking around for a while, so you'll get a lot of use out of whatever you purchased. That's the key, right? Well, that's what I tell myself and my husband, it keeps me out of trouble. ;) Anyway, there are a couple of trends that surprised me a little bit, but I'm coming around on them. I'll let you decide which ones...
Image via Pinterest A couple years ago, a friend of mine gave me a Kate Spade bracelet for Christmas. Amazing, right? Although I absolutely adore the brand, it wasn't the actual bracelet that touched me. At the time, I had been feeling a bit held back at work and it was pretty discouraging. My friend was so thoughtful, she inscribed on the inside "This Is Your Year To Make Sparks Fly." It was the inspiration and love I needed to dig down deep and keep grinding in a career I knew was very difficult to "make it" in. Every year, when December begins, I always think back to that moment and feel so inspired and cheerful. I want all of you to feel the same way....
Image via Pinterest I must say, this has been an incredibly busy stretch for the Fashion Truck and we couldn't be more excited! We're super busy with lots of private holiday parties and even travelled to Ottawa this past weekend to spread the love. We're pretty booked up this holiday season, but as of now, we do have a couple of spots left, so if you're interested, email either Ashley@FashionTruckCanada.com or Kayla@FashionTruckCanada.com and we can figure out a date! It's such a magical time of year, what's better than making mulled wine and shopping new arrivals with your closest girlfriends? Can't beat it. Speaking of the holiday season, our neighbors south of the border, are celebrating Thanksgiving and we can't help but think about...
Image via Pinterest Since I started working for Ashley, I have learned how to be a more independent professional; not relying on others to take the lead or critique me in my performance on a daily basis. I'm not sure if most or any of you know but for the first 6 1/2 years of my career, I was a Sports broadcaster. I was a TV/Radio Host and Reporter, and worked for Sportsnet 590 THE FAN, Sportsnet and Leafs TV. Drastically different from the fashion world to say the least. When you're in the spotlight every day, the bosses typically feel the need to guide or essentially analyze every move made by the on-air talent. It's suffocating. I can't even begin to describe...
